About us
Terminal Container Athus (TCA) has been active as an intermodal operator in southern Belgium since 1979.
Strategically located in Athus, at the border triangle of Luxembourg, France, and Germany, TCA forms a vital logistical link between the seaports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge and the industrial regions of Central and Southern Europe.
With an annual volume of over 100,000 TEU and an average of 1,200 trains per year, TCA plays a central role in rail freight transport. Since 2023, TCA has also operated its own rail traction company, TCA Rail, which is responsible for traction activities.
For our branch in Antwerp, we are looking for a Train Driver (M/F) to strengthen our operational team.
Your role
In this full-time position, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of trains, shunting movements, and compliance with applicable safety procedures.
Specifically, your tasks include:
• Operating trains and performing shunting movements.
• Carrying out brake tests and locomotive performance tests.
• Correctly applying regulations regarding composition, braking, and immobilization.
• Operating road-rail vehicles and local safety and signaling equipment.
• Refueling and basic maintenance of diesel locomotives.
• Identifying and responding correctly to unforeseen or disrupted situations.
• Communicating closely with dispatchers, fellow drivers, and maintenance teams.
Requirements and qualifications
• Minimum 20 years old (or 18 years with a restricted license for Belgian territory).
• Bachelor’s degree or TSO in a technical field, or equivalent through experience (5 years of industrial experience).
• In possession of a Category B Train Driver’s License and a valid certificate of competence in accordance with the Railway Code.
• Medically and psychologically fit according to European railway requirements.
• Language skills: Dutch and French at B1 level (CEFR).
• Strong focus on safety, stress resistance, and a sense of responsibility.
